My First Sock is Complete!

I finally finished the first sock!

I like the pattern but don't love how it turned out. I am not sure I will ever really wear these socks -they are nice to look at, though!

Knitting Inspiration

Where do you get your knitting inspiration? My main source for inspiration is Pinterest and Ravelry!

Both sites have a plethora of pictures and patterns.

Knee High Socks

Instead of the headband I decided to try a pair of socks. This is a new project for me. I bought the yarn a few weeks ago. It is Stretch Socks by Patons. I have tried out a couple different patterns and finally settled on the Knee Highs.

I don't love the pattern so far, but I really want to finish them and try out knitting a pair of socks. The first pattern I started was great -it was the spiral tube socks-but it did not divide for the heel. I scrapped this pattern since it did not have the heel as this was a skill I wanted to learn.

Headbands Galore!

This winter season I have been knitting a few different headbands. Over the last few years, they have definitely made a come back. They are great to keep your head warm without messing up your hair. You can also wear your hair up in a ponytail and it not ruin it. 

So, I have come up with a few patterns myself. I have also followed a couple from ravelry. My next project will be a pattern I found on ravelry and will be with Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick.

Fingerless Mitts

I  have had a few skeins of wool in my stash for a few years and have been looking for a pattern to use it for. I was having trouble because I didn't have enough to make a sweater and did not feel like knitting just a hat with it. I bought the wool in Trinity, NL when I was there visiting.

The wool is Briggs & Little Regal http://www.briggsandlittle.com/products/wool-knitting-yarns/.
It is made in New Brunswick. It is 100% wool. It was fairly inexpensive when I bought it -apparently much cheaper than other places.

Well, after searching and searching I found a perfect pattern. The pattern is for fingerless mitts.

I used 4.5mm (US 7) double pointed needles.

They turned out great (despite the thumb gusset, which I have yet to master).

Infinity Scarf 1 & 2

I have been knitting up a storm since my last post. I have even sold quite a few infinity scarves to friends. The pattern is so easy that I felt bad for even selling them.
I have posted the scarf on Etsy, however, I have yet to sell any through it.

The pattern for this infinity scarf is as follows:
Using Size 13 US (9mm) needles
Cast on 22 stitches
Knit each row for 50 inches
Cast Off
Sew ends together

Yarn: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick

I also knit a two tone infinity scarf using the same yarn.
The pattern is as follows:
Using size 13 circular needles
Cast 100 stitches
knit in the round
after 7 inches change to colour B
Knit until pieces measures 12 inches
Cast Off
